Hello. We are dot fill/na. We are a collective of data users who code, map, research, and design by day. We came together to create urban data art and promote dialogue around data’s role in the production of space.

Currently

We are currently a part of NEW INC (New Museum’s artist incubation program) for the duration of 2024 to 2025. At our time here, we are growing our foundations as a sustainable, thoughtful, and purposeful collective. We are also undergoing major developments for our first installation, Identity Discontinuity. Stay tuned for further updates.

  • Our collective is interested in the geo-social stratifications in the everyday urban environment. We aim to illuminate data’s blank spaces through art, dialogue, and complete data. We want to push the ticker toward spatial justice and equitable urban futures.

  • Our mission is twofold: 1) promote critical data theory in the context of urbanism and the quantification of space, and 2) bridge the gap between grounded, real-life experiences and institutionalized datasets. We seek to harness the power of localized knowledge for better-informed social interventions alongside other data users, technologists, and urban practitioners.

  • Creativity. Advocacy. Equity. Collaboration.

  • Data Art

By way of installations and visualizations, we are passionate about physicalizing our research and data, which focuses on the gaps, contradictions, and omissions hidden in the datasets that shape our immediate environments.

    Collaborations

We work alongside other artists to bring project ideas to life. This takes form in co-developing art ideas, as well as community workshops that are aligned with our mission and values.
